About Racing Brief

Racing Brief is an independent, free horse racing site for Britain and Ireland: racecards, results and our own IQ ratings for every runner, plus news on the big races.

How we report

Our news stories are written by the Racing Brief team, using official racecourse and BHA information, trainers' and owners' public statements, results data and other named racing outlets, which we credit and link in every story. We add our own analysis: form, ratings and what the news means for the races ahead.

We only report retirements, injuries and deaths once they are officially confirmed. If we get something wrong, we correct it openly and note the update on the story. Tell us on Telegram.

IQ ratings

IQ is our own rating for every runner, built from ability, recent form, going, trip, fitness, stable form and course record. How IQ works and the live alerts record.

Responsible gambling
